How would you write the opening lines for a plot for a romance involving rain boots left out in a storm?

It had stormed all night long and half of the day and there were still big fluffy clouds in the sky. I went outside wearing my rain boots but I took them off and started running on the grass while the rain kept pounding on the grass, I was having so much fun, when I got soaked I went running in the house forgetting all about my rainbows.
Wonderful! I love the phrase”forgetting all about my rainbows”.
Oops, you know that was a typo, I actually meant to type rain boots! 🙂
I like it either way.
