Since this month’s theme at JPC Allen Writes is characters, who are your favorite book characters? For me, a character becomes a favorite when I seek out their company again and again. Here’s partial list of mine because I’m sure there are some I’ve forgotten:
- Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. (The older I get, the more impressive Dr. Watson becomes.)
- Miss Jane Marple
- Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin by Rex Stout
- Father Brown by G.K. Chesterton
- Jeeves and Wooster
- The entire Threepwood family from the Blandings stories by P.G. Wodehouse
- Uncle Abner by Melville Davisson Post
- Bigwig and Blackberry from Watership Down by Richard Adams
Let me know in the comments who are your favorite books characters.
Here are writing prompts for characters.
This is a little question with huge answers! I like Attean from The Sign of the Beaver, Annmarie from Number the Stars, and Caddie Woodlawn…but I could go on and on, so I’ll stop there!
