This poem was inspired by John Updike’s poem about January in A Child’s Calendar. Although the poem may sound depressing, I like January. I enjoy winter and my birthday as well as the birthdays of all my kids are in this month.
How does January make you feel?
January makes me feel cold. Thankfully, we’ve enjoyed warm weather this week. On the other hand, January is perfect for writing. 🙂
Bad weather is a great reason to write. I also like winter as a setting when I need to isolate or challenge a character.
