It’s been a few years since I had a prompt to write a haiku for spring. The poem below is revised from one I wrote seven years ago.
In spring, the sky cries.
Out of anger? Sorrow? Joy?
The earth sends flowers.

I like the parallel of sending flowers! Here’s my attempt:
Birds write their new songs,
White and gray give way to green,
And I clean up mud.
The downside of spring!
