Poem in Your Pocket Day is a day to celebrate poetry, created by the Academy of American Poets. It’s a day to share a favorite poem that you carry with you. I’m using my blog as my virtual pocket and will share one of my favorite Psalms.

This quote is from the story “The Mountain”. Third graders Pat and Crazy Eddie are getting a bad case of spring fever and decide to enjoy April by climbing a mountain close to their homes in Idaho.
This is for everyone who finds March as boring and frustrating as I do.

I always do a funny Christmas card with my kids, and this year we decided to invent different varieties of “Elf on the Shelf”. “Troll in a Bowl”, anyone? What variations can you think of?
