Monday Sparks — Writing Prompts

In honor of the holiday last Friday, today’s prompt is about groundhogs. The picture book Groundhog Gets His Say by Pamela Curtis Swallow is written like an interview, so it has inspired me to do my own version.

Interviewer: Mr. Groundhog, do you enjoy your celebrity status?

Groundhog: It has its highs and lows.

Interviewer: What are the highs?’

Groundhog: Well, one day a year, I know that I am safe from all attacks. Not many rodents can say that.

Interviewer: And the lows?

Groundhog: The other 364 days.
